DISRUPTOR 2260

Klingon Disruptor circa 2260. This weapon uses high frequency sound waves to violently disrupt the target's molecular structure by way of vibration, causing the target's cellular structure to collapse. Often this is a very violent method of cellular disruption, which has a narrow focus for a sound device, however, it is still an area effect weapon, and can also disrupt other objects close to the target. There is no visible beam as it is a sound weapon, and emmits a loud discharge only when fired.
In ST: The Original Series, many props were recycled as a matter of budget. This was one of them. Originaly used as the Armenian Disruptor, it was redesigned as the Klingon Disruptor for use in later episodes. The Prop is left hand grip designed, and is very comforatable to hold. Klingons do know a thing or two about ergonomics.
