TYPE 3B PHASER

During the Borg assault on Earth in 2373, there were several models of phaser rifle available. Technological advancements from the Sovereign Class starship developement, and new specifications had produced three designs that were specialized for various combat situations. The Type 3B Rifle is a light rifle configuration. Less bulky than a Type 3A, which has a reinforced square barrel housing, and Less bulky than the EVA Rifle, the Type 3B is a favorite among personnel because of it's power output and comparative weight, and size.
Several variantions during and since ST:FC have been used based on this basic rifle design. In ST:Insurrection the rifle was not changed except for the power meter on top which was a orange-ish color. The shoulder strap, which is not seen here, is retractable on the hero props that were made.
