TYPE 2A PHASER In 2366 Starfleet introduced it's new Type 2 Phaser, having a full 16 counter display, on early models, the design was continually refind, using a variety of composite materials, and continually upgrading the capability of the unit, until the unit became so reliable that even the power meter on later models were removed. |

| Introduced in Season 3 of ST: The Next Generation, the Cobra Head Phaser prop soon became a fan favorite. Several paint schemes were used, and ultimatly even the body shape, and style was refind, all the way to it's last use in ST: Voyager when the props were finally retired. | |||
