This item was the standard issue communicator in service during 2363. Being worn on the left breast of the individual's uniform, it transmitted information to the ships computer, about the wearer's vital signs, location, and could also serve as a distress beacon. Several versions of this commbadge were used to determine rank status, or were just upgraded with minor until 2371, when Starfleet changed their logo.
