Darth Maul's Lightsaber

 

 

This Lightsaber as seen used by Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode 1, is not just one saber but it is two. The saber design is double ended allowing for multiple blased to be activated at the same time, allowing for a multitude of combat techniques to be used. The double blade design was also a redundancy. Each half of the saber housed it's own independant power source, beam and feild emmitters. In the event that one half of the saber was damaged the other was still fully functional.
